Carol C. Stokes

April 15, 1942 — June 4, 2020

Carol C. Stokes, 78, of Bismarck, went to be with our Lord on June 4, 2020. Carol was born in Glen Cove, New York, on April 15, 1942. She was the daughter of Eunice (Remsen) Lewis. Carol was a retired seamstress (Levi Straus) and shopkeeper. She earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from National Park College. She was very proud to be the first member of her family to earn a degree. Carol enjoyed music and computer games, but was most happy wrapped in the love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Stokes; son, Don Wade Cooley, Jr.; brother, Richard Lewis; two sisters, Deborah Yarbrough and Patricia Limigoue; and grandson, Kody Wayne Cooper. She is survived by her brother, Bruce Lewis, of San Diego, California; daughter, Tracey (Alan) Hughes and son, John (Stephany) Stokes, all of Bismarck; her light was her grandchildren, Kyle (Gail) Cooper, Kyle (Shay) Sheldon, Taylor Duncan, Ashton Duncan, Cheyenne Stokes, Kylee Stokes and Shelby Stokes. She has a large family including numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carol was a resident of Village Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation; our family is grateful for their care. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at Legacy Church in Hot Springs on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M.
