Charles H. Gordon

Charles H. Gordon, age 78, of Amity, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was born on December 18, 1939 in Arkadelphia, the son of Lee Gordon and Sadie Rea Melugin Gordon. On June 8, 1963, he was married to Bobbye Stroope. He was a United States Army veteran and retired from the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Amity First Baptist Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed oil and acrylic painting and listening to classical music. He is survived by his wife, Bobbye Gordon of Amity; two sons, Larry Gordon of Decatur, Texas and Greg Gordon of Amity; three grandchildren, Marian Gordon, Oliver Gordon and Elliot Gordon; his brother, Robert Gordon of Morrilton; and his sister, Patsy Sorrells of Dalark. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 14, 2018, in the Amity First Baptist Church with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
