Charlotte Howell

September 6, 1944 — July 27, 2021

On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, in Anchorage, Alaska, Charlotte Howell took one last flight. She gained her wings and walked into the arms of the love of her life, Dale, and her Savior Jesus Christ.

Charlotte Howell was born on September 6, 1944, in Hopper, the daughter of Morris and Retha Coffman Golden. On May 10, 1963, she married the love of her life, Dale Howell, who preceded her in death on January 27, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Lonnie Golden and Kenneth Golden.

Charlotte graduated from the Quapaw Vo-tech LPN program in 1984 and worked briefly at the Montgomery County Nursing Home. Lovingly known to many as Nanny, she enjoyed painting, quilting, feeding the birds, tending to her flowers and traveling.

Nanny leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Terry Russell of Hot Springs and Pam and Richard Scott of Norman; her son and daughter-in-law, Hank and Bridgett Howell of Crocketts Bluff; six grandchildren, Ashley Bailey of China Spring, Texas, Latosha McKamie of Norman, Dr. James Dale Cooper and his wife, Shanie, of Dallas, Texas, Christopher Cooper of Hot Springs, Charlie Howell and BreAnna Howell, both of Crocketts Bluff; four great-grandchildren, Eli Bailey, Holt Hamilton, Cheyenne McKamie, and Sierra McKamie; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Dennis Wornick and Marsha and Demon Townson; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 3, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Doug Wills and Bro. Jeremy Graves officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Norman.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff in the Emergency Room at the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer and Providence Anchorage, Alaska, and to Gene and Priscilla Horner for all their help. Our family cannot express enough thanks to our cousin, Anita Thiel of Anchorage, Alaska, for all of her kind help at such a needed time.
