Clarene Betts

Clarene Betts, age 70, of Glenwood, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010. She was born on April 13, 1940, at Hopper, the daughter of Ted Horn and Lottie Hollifield Horn. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Billy Horn. She was the owner and operator of Kid's Corner Daycare and a member of the Hopper Church of Christ. She loved being with her grandchildren and going to a good car race. Survivors include three children and their spouses, Wade and Cindy Betts of Woodbury, Tennessee, Betty and Lynn Epperson and Trina and Robert Leamons, all of Glenwood; seven grandchildren, Joanna Betts, Corey Cogburn, Cody Barrett and her husband, Jake, Alan Betts, Renee Cogburn, Jennifer Betts and Jessie Leamons; her great-granddaughter, Riley Barrett; three brothers, Edsel Horn and his wife, Alice, of Michigan City, Indiana, Tab Horn of Hopper and Teddy Allen Horn and his wife, Kathy, of Campbell, Missouri; her sister, Doris Miller of Libertyville, Illinois; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Betts of Glenwood; her sister-in-law, Janet Horn of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 1, 2011, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Harold Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Hopper Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kerry Horn, Keith Horn, Billy Kibbey, Larry Abshier, Doyle Shields and John Wayne Plyler. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Third Floor of Baptist Health in Arkadelphia, Dr. Gary Gehrki and staff and all of the children that she took care of through the years.
