Claude H. Tankersley

Claude H. Tankersley, age 90, of Hot Springs, died, Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

He was born on February 4, 1929, in Hot Springs, the son of Ben Tankersley and Lecie Moore Tankersley. On January 7, 1950, he married Betty Burke.

Claude served for 8 years in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Ford Auto Sales and later retired from Natural Butane Company. He enjoyed watching rodeos and listening to country music, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Tankersley of Hot Springs; two sons, Steve Tankersley of Pearcy and Michael "Stan" Tankersley of Hot Springs; two daughters-in-law, Teresa Tankersley and Gaylene Tankersley, both of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, Julie Balderas of Conway, Chuck (Christina) Grissom of Glenwood, Tracy (Joe) Tankersley/Faulkner of Hot Springs, Tasha (Mike) McGhee of Hot Springs, Bryan (Kristine) Tankersley of Pearcy and Zachary Clay of Hot Springs; twenty great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Tankersley of Pearcy; two sisters, Mildred Sorrels and Rachel Moore, both of Pearcy; his dog, Tinker Tankersley; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, August 9, 2019, at Oma Cemetery with Bro. Teddy Hill officiating. In honor of Claude, all gentleman attending the service are welcome to wear their caps.

Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Grissom, Bryan Tankersley, Michael Chapman, Zachary Clay, Ethan Grissom and Caleb Grissom.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Faulkner, Lathaniel Credit and Tristan Tankersley.

The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for their compassionate care for which they will always be thankful.
