Claude Robert "Bobby" Harter

January 11, 1949 — November 1, 2021

Claude Robert “Bobby” Harter, age 72, of Hot Springs, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s disease and a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bobby attended Henderson State University and was a firefighter for the City of Hot Springs Fire Department for 30 years. Following his retirement from the fire department, he joined Crye-Leike Real Estate Services where he was a realtor for 19 years. In his early years, Bobby enjoyed fishing and chess, and, following his marriage to June in 2003, could often be found at the Spa City Bop Club where he also served as parliamentarian, chairman of the nominating committee and helped with many projects and fund-raising events. Bobby also enjoyed playing golf, reading, and watching a good movie. He was a member of the Lake Valley Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, June; his son, Anthony Harter of O’Fallon, Missouri; his daughter Kimberly Kinzler (Clark) of Glenwood; his stepson, Chuck Wilson (Angie Bennett) of Pecos, Texas; three grandchildren, Corbin Yarbrough, Blayze McBryer, and Aspen (Troy) Hooks; three great-grandchildren, Avery, Preston and Knox Hooks; two sisters, Charlotte Hitchens of Hot Springs Village and Connie (Larry) Wehrman of Hot Springs; two nieces Laura (Chris) Tucker of Fulshear, Texas and Lesley (Daina) Harvey of Douglas, Massachusetts; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
