Daniel Joseph Hamerlinck

Daniel Joseph Hamerlinck, age 68, of Pearcy, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021.

He was born on October 25, 1952, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Dale Joseph Hamerlinck and Betty Curry Hamerlinck. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Betty Jane Grove. On June 16, 1973, he married Suzanne Shaw.

Daniel attended Piney Grove Methodist Church. He received an associate’s degree from Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois. He retired from Frito Lay after 28 years and was a member of the Riley Trail Hunting Club. Daniel enjoyed hunting but he loved spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Suzanne Hamerlinck of Pearcy; his three sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Jaime Hamerlinck of Greenbrier, Todd and Amanda Hamerlinck and Andy Hamerlinck and Rachel Thomas, all of Hot Springs; his grandchildren, Logan and Laken Johnston, Madi, Hayes and Shelby Hamerlinck, Brayden Hamerlinck, Alex Lindsey, Dalton and Titan Hamerlinck, and Lilly Ann and Lawson Thomas; his brother and sister-in-law, Marty and Audrey Hamerlinck of Rock Island, Illinois; his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Craig Afeld of Glenwood; nieces, nephew, extended family members and many good friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs, with Pastor Scott Gallimore officiating.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 66% of the total seating capacity occupied in the chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times, during visitation and the Chapel Service on Wednesday.

Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Pallbearers will be Logan Johnston, Hayes Hamerlinck, Brayden Hamerlinck, Joe Afeld, Joey Afeld and Dave Desmith.

Honorary pallbearer will be Alex Lindsey, Madi Hamerlinck, Shelby Hamerlinck, Dalton Hamerlinck and Titan Hamerlinck.

Donations may be made in his honor for the Lake Hamilton Optimist Club, 311 Wolf Street, Pearcy, Arkansas 71964.
