Dennis Catron

July 22, 1951 — January 8, 2022

Dennis Catron, age 70, of Amity, was called home to our Lord on Saturday, January 8, 2022.

He was born on July 22, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Richard Catron and Jacqueline Kraft Catron.

Dennis served as a medic in the United States Army from 1968 until 1971. After his discharge, Dennis was known as “The Painter,” painting homes and condos across Arkansas and Florida until becoming disabled in the early ninety’s.

Dennis enjoyed the great outdoors. He liked searching for arrowheads and crystals, fishing, but deer hunting was his passion. Deer season was his favorite time of the year! When he wasn’t outside, you could fine him crafting unique leather sheaths for his knives or reading/watching westerns. He loved a good western, bad western or any western!

He is survived by his wonderful wife of sixteen years, Cheryl Catron of Amity; three daughters and their spouses, Alisha and John Ketcheside of Buras, Louisiana, Holly and Jarret Cantrell of Hot Springs and Cher Taylor of Ohio; one stepdaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Angelo Hernandez of Mount Ida; six grandchildren, Alina Ketcheside, Rebel Ketcheside, Jeneah Taylor, Jerico Hernandez, Apollo Hernandez and Phenix Hernandez; and many other family members.

Dennis was a loving husband, dad and grandpa who will be greatly missed!

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
