Dennis James Downey

Dennis James Downey, age 66, of Nashville, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020.

He was born on March 15, 1954, in Valparaiso, Indiana, the son of Daro Downey and Hilda Pointon Downey. In November, 1977, he was married to Penny Lynn Cooper Downey, who preceded him in death on August 8, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father, Harlan Watson and step-mother, Marge Downey.

Donald worked for many years as a security guard for the Briar Plant, near Nashville. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Nascar racing.

He is survived by his son, Dallis Downey of Hot Springs Village; his grandson, Corbin Downey; two step-grandchildren, Jordan Keener and Jason Keener; two brothers, Raymond Downey and Chet Downey, both of Indiana; one sister, Joy Everett of Michigan City, Indiana; his girlfriend, Linda Stinson of Mount Ida; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Glenwood.
