Dewey Eugene Nutt

Dewey Eugene Nutt, age 93, of Amity, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019. He was born on March 4, 1926 in Amity, the son of Olen Nutt and Dora Burchfield Nutt. On January 6, 1948, he was married to Pearl Carroll Nutt who preceded him death on June 28, 2019. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Travis Nutt and Michael Nutt, and his parents. He was a cattle and poultry farmer and had raised chickens for Keith Smith Farms since 1952. He loved deer hunting and dozer riding around the farm. He was a United States Navy veteran. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Charlotte Nutt of Amity; his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Bobby Perkins of Carlisle; his daughter-in-law, Glenda Harding and her husband, Kenneth, of Glenwood; seven grandchildren, Kim Moran, Stuart Perkins, Clark Perkins, Jon Nutt, Keli Mount, Brandie Benton and Ryan Nutt; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 8, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, 1:00 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Nutt, Gavin Nutt, Jake Nutt, Clark Perkins, Brad Moran and Kenneth Harding. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
