Dixie Covey

October 21, 1942 — June 12, 2021

Dixie Covey, age 78, of Hot Springs, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

She entered this life on October 21, 1942, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Robert Ray Renfrow and Angeline Walz Renfrow. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Dixie was a Christian in her faith and a member of Piney Grove Methodist Church for over 40 years. She was a founding partner of Spa Auto Sales and contributed to the business's success for 35 years until retiring this past August. She was an avid bowler and held various offices with the U.S.B.C. Women’s Bowling Association. The last office held was that of league president. She treasured all of the trips and memories she made with her bowling family. Dixie found great pleasure in her many adventures with her bowling teams.

She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend. Her family was and will forever be her pride and joy. Dixie was often heard encouraging her children and grandchildren at their sporting events and activities. She loved to go on cruises with her friends and enjoyed trips to Branson with her family. You could always find her being the life of the party. Dixie Covey has been described as being larger than life. Her humor, wit, and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Dixie loved strong and lived life to its fullest.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Jim Bullard and Lisa and Matt Engebretson all of Pearcy; three grandchildren, Kayla Bullard of Pearcy, Kori Bullard and fiancé, John Kornet, both of Maumelle, and Mason Engebretson of Pearcy; her brother, Milton Elroyd (whom she affectionately called “Bud”) Renfrow of Jefferson City, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Claire Rhodes officiating in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the CHI St. Vincent Staff, Kindred Hospice and a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Hale and Mrs. Kayla Starnes.
