Donald "Donnie" Watson

Donald "Donnie" Watson, age 75, of Glenwood, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016. He was born on July 12, 1940 in Glenwood, the son of Hursel Slaughter Watson and Leta Mae Crawford Watson. On July 27, 1963, he was married to Betty Jean Hancock. Donnie was a United States Navy veteran and member of the Glenwood Church of Christ. He was the parts manager for Friendly Ford for over 20 years and later worked as a mail courier for Diamond Bank. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Watson; three children, Donald Gene Watson, Stacy W. Watson and Melissia Mae Watson, all of Glenwood; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his sister, Jo Elizabeth Dennis of Whitesboro, Texas. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with John Hall officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doyle Shields, Herb Brogden, Paul Crowson, David Coffman, Jack Gardner and Joe Beene. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
