Dorothy Louise Dollar

Dorothy Louise Dollar, age 81, longtime resident of Black Springs, passed away, peacefully at the Montgomery County Nursing Home on Sunday, August 16, 2020.

She was born on September 8, 1938, in Eunice, New Mexico, the daughter of Lehman Jefferson Williamson and Othia Viola Highsmith Williamson. On October 27, 1959, she was married to J. D. Dollar who preceded her in death on December 27, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents

After being raised in Black Springs and attending school at Norman, her parents moved to Knoxville, Tennessee her senior year where she graduated from high school. She then moved to Chicago, Illinois where she worked for a greeting card company for three years, then married J. D. Dollar. They later moved back to Black Springs where she served as postmaster and was owner of the General Store. She and J. D. were chicken farmers and in her two tomato houses, she grew hydroponic tomatoes and sold them locally. Louise was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by one son, Lee Alan Dollar of Glenwood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Hardie Reynolds, Jr. of Glenwood and Denise and Bobby Spears of Caddo Gap; eight grandchildren, Michelle L. Dollar, Amanda and Andrew Coffman, Andrew and Jessie Reynolds, Natasha and Jesse Cogburn, Beau Spears, Dawn Young, Brittany Booth and Robbie Harris; and twenty-three great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 19, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Gerald Palmer officiating.

Interment will be in the Grants Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hardie Reynolds Jr., Andrew Reynolds, Marty Reynolds, Derek Lynch, Wayne Dollar and Roger Craft.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Montgomery County Nursing Home.

Memorials may be made to Grants Chapel Cemetery, 1501 Dollar Road, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.
