Doyle Junior Watkins

Doyle Junior Watkins, age 71, of Bonnerdale, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018. He was born on August 16, 1947 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Edward Benjamin Watkins and Elander Camp Watkins. On July 9, 1969, he was married to Freida Diggs. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Ben Watkins, Arthur Watkins, Charlie Watkins and George Watkins. He was a retired security officer and construction worker. He served in the United States Navy and attended Crossroads Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Freida Watkins of Bonnerdale; his son, Russell Watkins of Austin, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Joe Lucero of Lavergne, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Samantha Watkins of Bonnerdale and Natasha Watkins of Hot Springs; his brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Leona Watkins of Kaufman, Texas: and his sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and David Wilbanks of Dallas, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 31, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Terry Diggs officiating. Interment will be in Grants Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tyler Applegate, Joe Lucero, Alan Styles, Jacob Huffman, Bobby Ransom and Jerry Tyler.
