Edna Mae Savoy

October 22, 1940 — May 26, 2021

Edna Mae Savoy, age 80, passed away peacefully in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

She was born on October 22, 1940, in Elton, Louisiana, the daughter of Aristille LaBauve and Mary Lee Domingue LaBauve. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joe Savoy, Jr.; and her parents.

In high school she was the Editor of the Welsh High School’s newspaper and was awarded numerous academic honors as well as graduating Salutatorian of her class. After graduation, she married Joseph Savoy, Jr., and eventually settled with her family in Little Rock, Arkansas where she attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Edna was always the life of the party squeezing the most out of every day. She loved traveling to New York City, reading, treasure hunting at garage sales, and playing Bridge, which eventually led to her becoming a Master Bridge player. She cherished her family and friends and impacted the lives of many by sharing her love of cooking. To Edna, “home” has always been Welsh, Louisiana, which collectively included her entire family both living and passed.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Savoy Zetterlund (Rob) and Scott Savoy (Alicia), as well as her beloved grandchildren Chris Thennes, Ashley Powers (Tripp), Andrew Savoy, and Seth Savoy; great-grandchildren, Isabella Thennes and Kase Powers; and Godchild, Jarred LeJeune (Elizabeth); her siblings, Margaret LeBlanc (Steven), Carolyn LeJeune (Warren), Dr. Linda LeBert-Corbello, Ph.D. (Gregory), Gail Hutson (Cecil), Jeffrey LaBauve, and Randy LaBauve (Theresa); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of wonderful friends.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice of Hot Springs and House of Three, Hot Springs for their loving and kind care of Edna.
