Ellen V. "Nana" Rucker

July 3, 1939 — September 12, 2020

Ellen V. “Nana” Rucker, age 81, of Hot Springs, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 12, 2020, in the comfort of her home.

She was born on July 3, 1939, in Hot Springs, the daughter of O.N. Cogburn and Ethel Cogburn. She was married to Clarence Rucker on February 4, 1966. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lloyd Cogburn.

Ellen was a lifetime resident of Hot Springs and she was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Nana was the heart of her family. Her hobbies included cooking for as many people as she could get gathered around her table. Being devoted daily to her husband of 55 years and loving and nurturing not only her children and grandchildren, but all the many hearts she touched, loved and helped raise through her Sunshine home childcare. Nana and Papa raised five children to love the Lord and to cherish each day as a blessing from God. She loved church social gatherings and being with her family as often as possible. She was full of love and life and never met a stranger. Nana accepted everyone as a special blessing in her life and hugged your neck after the first introduction. Her infectious smile, laugh, kind and giving heart and sincerity will be missed by not only her family and friends, but everyone she met. She is an angel now, that will forever remain amongst us.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Rucker of Hot Springs; her children, Joey (Beth) of Arlington, Tennessee, Karen (Keith) of Malvern, Keith (Cindy) of Bonnerdale, Judi (Bradley) of Pearcy and Stan (Holly) of Nashville; thirteen grandchildren, Ben, Branden, Lauren, Trevor (Emily) Kylor (Whitney), Lindsey, Kelsey, Jacob, Caleb, Kenley, Abigail, Lucas and Ava; four great-grandchildren, Bryson, Ellie Lynn, Braxton and Ledger; two brothers, Phil Cogburn and Don (Carolyn) Cogburn all Hot Springs; one sister, Denetta (Randall) Smallwood of Todd Mission, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
