Gary Wayne Phillips

Gary Wayne Phillips, age 68, of Bonnerdale, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021.

He was born on July 6, 1953, in San Pedro, California, the son of Lloyd Phillips and Shirley Maner Phillips. On November 10, 1971, he married Doris Hammock. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Phillips; one sister, Patricia Hammock; and one son-in-law, Anthony McAfee.

Gary was a Christian and a member of Pearcy Baptist Church. He worked many years for Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and later as a self-employed carpenter.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris Phillips of Bonnerdale; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brandon and Theresa Phillips of Frisco, Texas and Miguel Phillips of Bonnerdale; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Anne McAfee of Hot Springs and Sheena and Shawn Covey of Royal; seven grandchildren; Parker Phillips, Keifer Rummel, Destinee McAfee, Gaige Ehrenworth, Autumn McAfee, Aiden Covey and Stephanie Covey; two great-grandchildren, Azlon and Caprio; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Evelyn Phillips of Royal; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside service at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 1, 2021, in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Bismarck, with Bro. Teddy Frye officiating.

Visitation will be held at 6:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Covey, Aiden Covey, Gaige Ehrenworth, Miguel Phillips, Jeremy Hammock, Daniel Hammock, Micah Dixon and Parker Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jeffery Tauth, Dr. David Robbins, DDS, Dr. Troy Oxner, Nurses and staff with Arkansas Hospice and Kindred Hospice, Texas Home Health, Baylor, Scott and White in Frisco and Plano, Texas.
