Gean Seals, age 86, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. She was born on May 26, 1931 in Daisy, the daughter of Charlie Yeargan and Stella Parker Yeargan. On October 20, 1949, she was married to Bobby Seals who preceded her in death on July 10, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Faye Epperson and Betty Sweeden. Being a farmers wife meant not only preparing meals, taking care of the home and children; it also meant working the chicken houses and tending the garden. Although a busy life, she always had time for her children and loved being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Athens Holiness Church. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Jim Eskew and Lequieta and Billy Roberts, all of Athens; her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Ginger Seals of Glenwood; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Adam Sewell, Andrea and Brett Crawford, Ben and Jennifer Seals, John and Rachelle Eskew and Rebecca Roberts; nine great-grandchildren, Lauren Crawford, Jordan Crawford, Austin Crawford, Ashley Seals, Travis Seals, Aiden Thomas, Titus Eskew, Blake Eskew and Colton Eskew. Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2017, in the Athens Holiness Church with Brett Crawford, Don Vaughn and David Harrison officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Athens Holiness Church. Interment will be in Athens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Ben Seals, John Eskew, Jordan Crawford, Austin Crawford, Bob Epperson and Jim Sweeden. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
