George T. Weatherford

August 6, 1929 — February 11, 2021

George T. Weatherford, age 91, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2021.

He was born on August 6, 1929, in Hot Springs, the son of David Monroe Weatherford and Ola Beatty Kizzar. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Jicie Reynolds Weatherford, on November 18, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deloris Diane Foster; his parents; two brothers, David Weatherford and Jessie Weatherford; and three sisters, Mary Ann Weatherford, Pearl Fendley and Alice Martin.

Mr. Weatherford was a charter member of the Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church for 57 years and was a United States Army veteran. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed to deer hunt. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who truly loved his family with all of his heart.

He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Carol Garrett and Arlene and Marvin Caple, all of Hot Springs; six grandchildren and their spouses, Candy and Paul Burris, Angela Effird, Shawn and Windy Yates, Jay Darguzas, Jeremy and Nicole Darguzas and Mandy Oaks; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Imogene Weatherford of Pearcy and Royce and Sue Weatherford of Paisley, Oregon.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 25, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro. Teddy Hill and Bro. Bill Chessire officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, 9:00 AM until service time, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Oma Cemetery in Pearcy.

Pallbearers will be Marty Reynolds, Hardie Reynolds, Dudley Martin, Gordon Fendley, Roy Wayne Weatherford, Kenny Weatherford and Gerald Weatherford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Mitchell, Lanny Plummer and Donnie Ault.
