Gerald Joe Grant

Gerald Joe Grant, age 81, of Kirby, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

He was born on November 9, 1939, near Glenwood, the son of Houston Loyd Grant and Florine Nicholson Grant. On November 29, 1959, he was married to Cherryl Doster Grant who preceded him in death on December 24, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harold Ray Grant; and his sister, Freda Batchelder.

Gerald was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Always a hard worker, he traveled in his younger years as a welder and pipefitter. As the girls got older, he and Cherryl settled back home where he did some trucking but mostly farming. Gerald was a member of the Glenwood Masonic Lodge #662. He enjoyed camping, traveling, deer hunting and loved being with his girls and grandkids.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Mike Funderburk and Jill and Lynn Tolleson, all of Kirby and Lori and Steven Wozniak of Hot Springs; six grandchildren and their spouses, Molly and Blake Angel, Lynsey and Michael Langley, Dan and Heather Funderburk, Grady and Blakely Tolleson, Zoe Wozniak and Remy Wozniak; five great-grandchildren; Case Angel, Coy Angel, Grant Funderburk, Ella Funderburk and Joe Langley; his brother, Jimmy Grant of Glenwood; and a very special niece, Heather “Buffy” Diggs.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 17, 2021, in the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Herring and Bro. Lynn Tolleson officiating.

Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Mike Funderburk, Lynn Tolleson, Steven Wozniak, Dan Funderburk, Grady Tolleson, Blake Angel and Michael Langley.

Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 163, Kirby, Arkansas 71950.
