Harold E. Horn

Harold E. Horn, age 84, of Glenwood, died Monday, January 28, 2013. He was born on September 15, 1928, at Caddo Gap, the son of Jesse Lee Horn and Rebecca Jane Lowery Horn. On July 21, 1948, he was married to Mildred Jenkins who preceded him in death on January 11, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Col. Jesse Lee Horn, Jr.; and his sister, Maxine Johnson. He worked in the timber industry; was a Foreman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad; and a poultry farmer; but his greatest love was working with horses. He was Free Will Baptist in his faith. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Dana Horn of Glenwood; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debbie Horn and Sherry and Johnny Wilson, all of Glenwood; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Kris and Tonia Wilson, Sandi and Tommy Wright, Heather and Eric Diggs, N. Zane Wilson, Ryan Horn, Tia and Chad Wells, Haley Horn and PJ and Crystal Horn; ten great-grandchildren, Cole Dunn, Lexi Diggs, Emily Balliette, Grace Wells, Logan Wells, Cheyenne Wilson, Drew Diggs, Reese Wilson, Delilah Wells and Zach Bartlett; one sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Leo Small of Glenwood; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Golden, Bro. Keith Shewbart and Bro. Joe Ray Short officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Ryan Horn, PJ Horn, Kris Wilson, Nickolas Wilson, Chad Wells, Eric Diggs and Tommy Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of the Murfreesboro Nursing Center and Roger Tidwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 313, Glenwood, Arkansas, 71943 or to the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 81, Kirby, Arkansas, 71950. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
