Jan Graves

September 3, 1951 — September 6, 2021

Jan Graves, age 70, of Norman, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021.

She was born on September 3, 1951, in Mena, the daughter of David Beck and Rose Holmes Beck. She was preceded in death by her son, Colby Graves; her father; her niece, Holly Bissell; and two brothers-in-law, Doug Graves and Timmy Graves.

Jan was a devoted Christian lady who loved her Lord and attended the Glenwood Free Will Baptist Church. She worked for over five years with CADC as a cook and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her gardens, canning and freezing her delicious vegetables, and she made the most delicious cherry pie, which is going to be missed by all who were fortunate to have eaten one. Many knew Jan as “Nan” and she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who loved her family with all her heart. She will truly be missed by all who knew and cherished her.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 49 years, Buzzy Graves of Norman; her mother, Rose Beck of Black Springs; two sons, Clint Graves and Casey Graves, both of Norman; two grandchildren, Cheyanne Graves and his wife, Shera, and Tiffany Graves; four great-grandchildren, Blake, Gabe, Dakotah and Rhesa; two brothers, Ken Beck of Norman and Noel Beck of Mena; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lynn and Jerry Cogburn of Hopper and Sharon Redmon of Mena; two sisters-in-law and their spouses, Julia and Jodie Bissell and Anna and Steve Miller, all of Norman; two brothers-in-law, David Graves and his wife, Regina, and James Graves, all of Norman; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
