Joe Feemster

Joe Feemster, age 83, of Newhope, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014. He was born on April 18, 1931, in Newhope, the son of Newton Lee Feemster and Alice Ann Clay Feemster. On December 27, 1989, he was married to Nola Griffin Feemster. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Neil Feemster, Royce Tucker and Tony Tucker; five brothers, Boyce Feemster, Donnie Feemster, Harold Feemster, Bruce Feemster and Jeff Feemster; one sister, Wanda Dick; and a special nephew, Mike Feemster. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served eight years and was employed with Weyerhauser for twenty-four years. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Newhope, and a member of the Buffalo Gap Masonic Lodge #484 in Langley and the Oak Hill Masonic Lodge #393 in Dierks. He is survived by his wife, Nola Feemster of Newhope; eight children and their spouses, Donnie and Deana Manasco, Randy and Norma Tucker and Oneal Tucker, all of Newhope, Joan and Jim Wigley of Tucumcari, New Mexico, Mike and Karen Fortenberry of Adrian, Texas, Kathy and Richard Payne of Hugo, Oklahoma, Kathy Lawalin and John Feemster, both of Tell City, Indiana; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Carl "Bo" Feemster, and his wife, Lois, of Huntington, Indiana; his sister, Verma "Doodle" Blair, and her husband, Phil, of Mobile, Alabama; his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Feemster of Kirby; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 8, 2014, in the Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Kenny Fant officiating. Visitation will be held Monday morning, 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be his fellow Masonic Lodge brothers.
