Joel Seals

Joel Seals, age 80, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday June 7, 2020. He was born on September 27, 1939 in Athens, the son of William Carroll Seals and Hazel Inez Aylor Seals. On April 10, 1970, he was married to Sue Ellen ONeal. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joel was a United States Air Force veteran. A member of Grace Baptist Church, he was involved with the construction of the church facilities. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Sue Seals of Glenwood; his son, Michael Seals of Murfreesboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Nick Mounts of Glenwood; six grandchildren, Cory Seals, Cody Seals, Austin Seals, Macy Brewer, Hannah Roebuck and Tripp Mounts; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life will be held by Grace Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in their facility with Bro. James Owens and Bro. Harold Turner officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM, Wednesday, in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the funeral home chapel. Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 50 persons at any one time in the funeral home chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering to enter.
