John Michael Wilkes, Sr.

John Michael Wilkes, Sr., age 51, of Kirby, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020.

He was born on March 22, 1969, in DeQueen and was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Wilkes, and by his first wife, Marion “Mary” Wilkes. On June 15, 2002, he was married to Tina Parker Wilkes who passed away on May 25, 2018.

John was a United States Army veteran and employed as a driver for Blackmon Oil Company for eighteen years. He was a member of the Lodi Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family.

He is survived by seven children, Beth Nolen of Amity, Jasmin Ilsemann of Germany, Cassie Shaw of Royal, John Michael Wilkes, Jr. of Union City, Tennessee, Billy Christian of Arkadelphia, Ricky Wilkes of Arkadelphia and Gary Wilkes of Camden; eight grandchildren, Logan Miller, Evelyn Nolen, Drayke Shaw, Kimberly Ilsemann, Matthew Nolen, Aaron Ilsemann, Travis Nolen and Julian Wilkes; his mother, Karen Tyree of Norman; two brothers, Curtis Meaders of Norman and Anthony Threet of Norfolk, Virginia; one sister, April Randall of Willow Springs, Missouri; his mother-in-law, Gail Parker of Lodi; and his nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 17, 2020, in the Mount Tabor Cemetery with Bro. Ron Parker officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
