Judy C. Cogburn

Judy C. Cogburn, age 58, of Kirby, died Monday, March 4, 2013. She was born on February 22, 1955, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of James Oatsie Sorrells and Verda Maye Jackson Sorrells. On May 23, 1975, she was married to Gene Cogburn. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was devout in her faith and attended Hilltop Full Gospel Church. She was a nurse at the Glenwood Health and Rehab for twenty-three years. She loved being a nurse and caring for all "Her little people". She was a very loving mother, devoted wife and grandmother who always loved life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Gene Cogburn of Kirby; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Charissa Cogburn of Kirby; two grandchildren, James Cogburn and Michael Cogburn; two sisters, Lorna Hood of Amity and Jean Sorrells of Glenwood; one brother, James Sorrells of Del Ark; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and loving friends. Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, March 7, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Eric Wehunt and Bro. Josh Harper officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Foster-Cook Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be David Kitchens, Michael Parker, Kevin Sorrells Whisenhunt, Kelly Sorrells Whisenhunt, Daniel Neal and Matt Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Brooks, Grant Wehunt, Jimmy Neal, Dean Cogburn, James Cogburn, Michael Cogburn, Dr. Gary Gherki and the nurses and staff of the Glenwood Health and Rehab.
