Kenneth C. Maxey

Kenneth C. Maxey, age 87, of Daisy, passed away Christmas morning, December 25, 2012. He was born on July 12, 1925 at Gibbs, Arkansas, the son of Lyn Charles Maxey and Beulah Belle Meeks Maxey. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Joe Floyd Maxey. He was a rancher, logger, auctioneer and heavy equipment operator. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid promoter of classic country music in our area. Survivors are his wife, Violet Maxey of Lonsdale; three sons, Kenneth Allen Maxey, and his wife, Rita, of Lockesburg, Rodney Maxey of Ashdown and Lance Maxey of Glenwood; his daughter, Kathy Hughbanks of Mount Ida; five grandchildren; one step-grandson; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. After cremation, he will be interred at Coker Cemetery at Rosboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
