Leamon Dorsey

Leamon Dorsey, age 87, of Amity, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016. He was born on September 4, 1928 at Amity, the son of Walter Dorsey and Helen Coker Dorsey. On July 7, 1951, he was married to Alta Hammock Dorsey. He was preceded in death by his son, Alan Dorsey; and his parents. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired logger. He was a member of the former Cornerstone Church in Amity. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports, especially when his grandchildren were playing. He is survived by his wife, Alta Dorsey of Amity; two daughters, Carol DeLee of Fanshawe, Oklahoma and Cheryl Kirksey of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Tiffany Cowart, Benji Gould, Tye Gould, Hunter Kirksey and Asher Kirksey; and six great-grandchildren, Sierra Collier, Zoe Gould, Lexi Cowart, C. J. Cowart, Remi Cowart and Arli Cowart. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 3, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery at Amity.
