Leo Smith

October 25, 1929 — June 12, 2020

Leo Smith, age 90, of Amity, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020.

He was born on November 25, 1929, in Amity, the son of Al Smith and Seffie Sligh Smith. On February 16, 1952, he was married to Helen “Dean” Smith who preceded him in death on July 25, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Vicky Smith.

He was a sawmill worker most of his life and worked for Barksdale Lumber Company and Curt Bean Lumber Company. He enjoyed going to Oaklawn and loved to be on the go. He was known as a hard worker and one who was contented with life.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Melissa Smith of Conway; and three grandchildren, Kevin Smith of Conway, Jeffery Smith of Fayetteville and Danyelle Rollans of Conway.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 20, 2020, in the Jones Cemetery at Amity.

Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 50 persons at any one time in the chapel. You must avoid all physical contact and attendees, 10 years of age or older, must be wearing a face covering to enter.

Pallbearers will be Stacy Howell, Joe Vivano, Barry Smith, Cory Smith, Kevin Smith and Johnny Raines.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
