Linda Marie Buttrum

Linda Marie Buttrum, age 78, of Royal, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2020.

She was born on November 28, 1941, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Marvin Vanderburg and Hazel Smith Vanderburg. On June 4, 1961, she married Michael Buttrum. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jesse Harvey; her parents; and two brothers, Vance Vanderburg and Phillip Vanderburg.

Linda graduated from Lake Hamilton High School. She worked as a secretary for Stearns Hardware and the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center for many years. Linda loved gardening and canning fruits and vegetables. She was a member of Lee Chapel Baptist Church, where she was active in the youth puppet team and playing the piano at local nursing homes.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Buttrum of Royal; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Elizabeth Buttrum of Royal; her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Elbert Harvey of Royal; three grandchildren, Rachel and Jason Botsford, Samuel Harvey and Aaron Ennis; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Lavern Vanderburg of Royal; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the family will hold a private service. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sunshine under the direction of Davis-Smith funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Pallbearers will be Joey Vanderburg, Mark Vanderburg, Danny Chase, Aaron Ennis, David West and Samuel Harvey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Albright and the 400 Wing at the Montgomery County Nursing Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 400 Wing at the Montgomery County Nursing Home, 741 South Drive, Mount Ida, Arkansas 71957.
