Linnie Mae Wacaster

February 22, 1932 — October 23, 2021

Linnie Mae Wacaster, age 89, of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021.

She was born on February 22, 1932 in Lodi, Arkansas, the daughter of James Levi Cowart and Allie Mae Welch Cowart. On December 25, 1952, she was married to Guy Wacaster who preceded her in death on May 13, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and five siblings, Leon Cowart, Frazier Cowart, Clidus Cowart, Burl Cowart and Syble Thomas.

Linnie Mae was always busy doing something. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers, working puzzles and word games, sewing and cooking. She was one of the best at making pies and dumplings. Linnie Mae loved to be with her family, her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Winan Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Randa Wacaster of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Chris Harvey of Hot Springs; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Randy O’Steen, Tiffany and Andy VanderWall, Chad Wacaster, Amy Harvey, Nick Harvey, Holly Harvey and Quinton and Cherie Harvey; her great-grandchildren, Keith Harvey, Kevin Harvey, Madison Harvey, Ashliegh O’Steen, Joshua O’Steen and Nathan VanderWall; two sisters, Mildred Raybon and Margie Dean, both of Hot Springs; her brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Frances Cowart of Lodi; and a very special niece, Cindy Stapleton of Spring Branch, Texas.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro. Kyle Cowart officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Lodi Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Wacaster, Nick Harvey, Keith Harvey, Kevin Harvey, Leon Ault and Weston Ault.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Timothy English, Dr. Jeffery Tauth, the nurses and staff of CHI St. Vincent-Hot Springs 2nd floor Heart Unit and Arkansas Hospice.
