Logene Cogburn

Logene Cogburn, age 84, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020.

She was born on December 27, 1935, in Parkdale, Arkansas, the daughter of Arvle Craig and Flonnie Mae Curtis Craig. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Cogburn; her parents; her brother, Eldridge Craig; and her sisters, Patsy Remaley and Lora Neva Beard.

She was a Protestant in her faith and retired after thirty-three years with the Shoe Factory. She enjoyed reading, cooking for her family, fishing, crocheting, and going to her great-grandchildren’s basketball game, where she was proudly their number one fan. Logene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Paul and Carolyn Ricks of Royal and Lonnie Cogburn of Caddo Gap; her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Ronnie Chambers of Caddo Gap; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Clementine Carter, Carol Dickinson, Michelle Mock, James Dickson, Lonna Cogburn, Crystal and Caleb Cogburn, Michael and Tiffany Chambers, Billy Chambers, Courtney and Robbie Warren and Chad Veazey; twenty-three great-grandchildren and one on the way; her brother, Jim Craig of Crescent City, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 13, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Pastor Doug Kincannon officiating.

Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 100 persons, at any one time, attending indoor services. At all services, you must avoid all physical contact. Attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering which always conceals the mouth and nose.

Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of CHI St. Vincent-Critical Care Unit, Hot Springs.
