Lola Jean Porter Page, age 84, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, formerly of Glenwood, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

She was born on December 15, 1936, in Delight, the daughter of Doyle Andrew Ashley and Winnie Marie Marshall Ashley. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John D. Porter in November of 2000, and her second husband, Carl Page in February of 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Wayne Ashley.

She spent many years of her life serving as a dedicated pastor’s wife, over the years was a Sunday School teacher, and upon relocating to Oklahoma she attended Apostolic Faith Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Lola truly loved her Lord and always enjoyed going to church. For several years she was a first grade elementary school teacher, having taught in numerous schools throughout Arkansas, and was loved by many students over the years of her teaching. She enjoyed gardening, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Jan Byrd and her husband, Randy, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; two granddaughters and their spouses, Ashley and Kenson Wilson of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Heather and Brandon Barnhill of Ripley, Tennessee; one grandson, Kody Byrd of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; two great-granddaughters, Paris Wilson and Gracelynn Wilson; one great-grandson, Luke Barnhill; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 27, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Duke officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kody Byrd, Kenson Wilson, Brandon Barnhill and Randy Byrd.
