Lonnie Lewis Heird

Lonnie Lewis Heird, age 66, of Royal, passed away, Sunday, September 27, 2020.

He was born on April 24, 1954, in Sheridan, the son of William Voda Heird and Mary Cotton Heird. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vieola Neil; and a nephew, David Heird.

Lonnie was a Christian in his faith. He was a design coordinator for Mid South Engineering. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lagayla Heird of Royal; his son, Ben Heird of Arkadelphia; four daughters, Christy Heird of Poyen, Melissa Pascuzzi of Hot Springs, Terri Magee and Tammy Laughery both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, C. W. Heird of Hot Springs, Joe Jack Heird of Conway and John David Heird of Sheridan; one sister, Margie Pope of Sheridan; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 2, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro. Curtis Abernathy officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM.

Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 100 persons at any one time in the funeral home chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times when inside the funeral home.
