Lonnie M. Morris

Lonnie M. Morris, age 80, of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, May 6, 2020. He was born on June 27, 1939, in Cedar Glades, the son of Martin M. Morris and Winnie J. Neal Morris. On April 28, 1965, he married Barbara Rucker. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Winford D. Morris. A United States Army veteran, Lonnie was a Baptist in faith and he retired after working for many years with Weyerhaeuser. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter and coin collector. Lonnie was a man with a heart of gold and he always had a smile for everyone he met. He was a wonderful father, husband and friend and he will be greatly missed. Lonnie was always a man that thought more of others than himself. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Morris of Hot Springs; his daughter, Monica Elaine Morris-Adams of Hot Springs; one grandson, Aiden Hunter Voss; one sister and brother-in-law, Willie and Don Wright of Mountain Pine; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictive directives from the office of the Governor of Arkansas, seating will be limited. We will be live streaming services beginning at 10:00 AM, Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Zachary Tucker, Chris Wright, Steve Rucker, Keith Rucker, Joe Rucker and Patrick Rucker Shumaker. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Simpson, Dr. John Bond and the nurses and staff of Kindred Hospice. Memorials may be made to the Jackson House, 705 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901.
