Lorene Davis

Lorene Davis, age 86, of Mount Ida, died Monday, February 28, 2011. She was born on February 28, 1925, at Hopper, the daughter of Jim Thomas and Edna Yarbrough Thomas. On November 16, 1940, she was married to Doyle Davis who preceded her in death on April 7, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one son, Bob Davis and one daughter, Clorene Davis. She was a member of the Hopper Church of Christ and a homemaker. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger "Dink" and Debbie Davis of Mount Ida; her daughter and son-in-law, Saundra and Keith Mattix of Humble, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Sue Davis of Caddo Gap; four grandchildren, Bobby Davis, Bobbie Green, Barry Davis and Robert Mattix; three great-granddaughters, Jade Green, Alisha Davis and Carlie Scout; and one sister, Clotha Powell of Royal. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 3, 2011, in the Hopper Church of Christ with Harold Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Hopper Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Kenny Thomas, Bob Davis, Barry Davis, Robert Mattix, Dennis Mitchell and Lynn Epperson. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
