Lurie Luiza (Francis) Thomason of Covington, Washington, passed from this life on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the age of 85. Lurie was born in Alpine, Arkansas, on February 14, 1927, the daughter of Carlie and Annie Mae Francis. She was married to Lee Marvin Thomason on January 9, 1943. Lurie was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Marvin; two brothers, Calvin Francis and Billie Francis; two sisters, Jean DeLong and Ollie Francis; her daughter-in-law, Claudia Jo Thomason; and foster son, Jimmie Lee Russell. Lurie is survived by her son, Claudie Lee Thomason and his family, Timothy and Sandra Thomason and daughter Madison, Scott Thomason and son Ryan; her son, Dannie Ray and Susan Thomason and their family, Denise and Michael Langholz and their children, Jacob and Regen, Lora and Dee Warnes and their daughter, Kacee, Rebecca Ann and Greg Kather and her sons, Jobe and Jimmie Simon. Lurie was a foster parent and loved all her foster children as her own. Lurie is also survived by her foster sons, Michael Barrett, Jr., and Lee Russell and wife, Barbara, and their children, Miranda, Wallace and family and Jonathan Russell and family; foster daughters, Kimberly Harris and son, Andrew, Candy Ahrens and her children, Pricilla and Ryan and Shannon Lingerfelt and her children, Ashley, Nakiesha and Micah; her foster granddaughter, Jammie Russell; and four foster great-granddaughters. Lurie is also survived by two brothers, Alvin and Novella Francis and their family, and Charles and Charlene Francis and their family; and her sister, Vivian Woods and her family. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Joyce Francis and Wanda Francis and their families. Lurie was a member of the Redwood Christian Center in Eureka, California, for many years before moving to Washington. Lurie was a homemaker and caregiver. She worked as a professional seamstress, and owned and operated an auto electric repair business with her husband, Marvin. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Rev. David Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Alpine. Pallbearers will be Vance Buck, Zackary Buck, Billy Joe Francis, Stan Mitchell, Arlo Copeland and Kevin Garner.
