Makesha "Monk" Golden

November 14, 1985 — June 15, 2021

Makesha “Monk” Golden, age 35, of Glenwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

She was born on November 14, 1985, in Sacramento, California, the daughter of Ricky Dale Golden and Lois Faye Cogburn. She was preceded in death by her father; her brother, Billy Wilhite; and her sister, Melissa Wilhite.

She enjoyed taking care of her cats, being outdoors, fishing, camping, and was always ready to go when she knew someone was about to go somewhere fun, especially shopping. She had a talent for crocheting and working with her new “Cricut”. Anyone who really knew Makesha knew her favorite holiday was Halloween, and she loved every minute of it. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved them all, but Makesha’s greatest love in life was her wonderful Matt and Destiny; they were truly her world and she cherished and adored them with all her heart.

Makesha is survived by the love of her life, Matt Stafford and her pride and joy, her daughter, Destiny Stafford, both of Glenwood; her mother, Lois Wilhite of Glenwood; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Denver Taylor, Windell “Tom” and Trina Mann and Robert and Kari Wilhite, all of Glenwood, James and Charlotte Golden and David Golden, all of Rector; her sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Kyle Cogburn of Jessieville; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 26, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Joe Cogburn officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Newhope.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Mann, Russell Mann, Timothy English, Chris Trujillo, Obie Rider and Mark Cogburn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Hulvey, David Briggs, Joseph Briggs, Dylan Wilhite and Scottie Freeman.
