Mary Inas McKinney

October 30, 1943 — November 26, 2020

Mary McKinney, age 77, of Hot Springs, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020.

She was a life-long resident of Hot Springs, born on October 30, 1943, the daughter of Thomas Everett Moran and Minnie Evola Tougaw Moran. She is predeceased by her husband, Doyle McKinney; her baby daughter, Michelle; her parents; her sister, Paula Simmons; her brother, Louis Moran; her nephew, Kenneth Moran; and her niece, Jeannie Duke.

Mary was a loving wife and mother and a beautiful kind-hearted friend. Her family was her greatest joy. She was married to Doyle for 45 years and together they were immensely proud of their children, Diane and Billy. She adored her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Richard and Diane, just as her own. Her granddaughters, Sara and Beth, were her biggest source of pride along with their husbands, Spencer and Clark. Mary’s legacy will live on through her new great-granddaughters, Lindsey Elizabeth and namesake, Amelia Mary, born in April of this year. Being able to hold and love on them and sing to them has been the highlight of her year.

Mary loved to sing. As a young girl, she enjoyed being in the chorus and if she was breathing, she was singing. If you sat next to her at church, you were blessed with her beautiful alto voice. Our home was always filled with her voice singing praises to God with her favorite hymns and a very special song for each of us on our birthday.

Her passion was her Mary Kay career of 33 years. She became a sales director and enjoyed leading and mentoring women. She always exhibited the Mary Kay Go-Give Spirit.

Mary is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Braughton and her special nephew, Robert Braughton of West Palm Beach, Florida; her brother, Tommy Moran of Hot Springs; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended Tougaw family who she loved so much.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
