Maryjane "Janie" Mowery

October 7, 1930 — June 18, 2021

Maryjane “Janie” Mowery, the kindest and purest person I have ever know has rejoined her soul mate in God’s Kingdom on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the age of 90. Janie was born Maryjane Gray in North Little Rock on October 7 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph Clanton Gray and Gladys Griggers Gray.

Janie was Christian in her faith. She moved back to Arkansas from California at the age of 15 when her father retired from the Navy. Just before her 16th birthday, she went on her first date with the man she was happily married to for 57 years before he was called to Heaven on April 24, 2005, at the age of 75. They led by example and raised their family with values that are being lost in translation in the world today. She loved to laugh and enjoyed life with those that knew her.

She is now with her husband, Charlie Mowery and her daughter, Marsha Blevins and I’m sure, patiently waiting to welcome the rest of her blessed family to the land of the living.

Her survivors include her two sons and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Kathy Mowery and Paul “Willie” Mowery, all of Hot Springs; her grandchildren, Charlie and April Mowery and Joe Mowery of Hot Springs, Alecia Mowery and Brandon Mills of New Braunfels, Texas and Sarah and Nate Jones of Fayetteville; her great-grandchildren, Luke Mowery, Anabelle Mowery, Henry Jones, Connor Mills and Logan Mills; along with her many relatives and lifelong friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs, there will not be a service per her request. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Janie’s honor to your favorite charity and would be appreciated.

Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
