Maxine Sigman

Maxine Sigman, age 87, of Glenwood, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016. She was born on December 30, 1928 in the Bumblebee community near Glenwood, the daughter of Erbie Vaughn and Knola Cowart Vaughn. On November 28, 1946, she was married to Cleo H. Sigman who preceded her in death on August 14, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her twin brothers, Boyce and Boyd Vaughn. She was a member of the Glenwood First Baptist Church. She was active with the Glenwood Senior Citizens Center where she was a member of the Bean Bag Baseball Team, the Arkansas Senior Olympics Winner for 2013. Maxine was a licensed practical nurse. She started her nursing career in the old Ouachita Hospital for five years, Dr. Jim Davis's office in Mount Ida for four years and then in recovery for St. Josephs Regional Hospital for twelve years. She is survived by five children and their spouses, Peggy and Wick Howell of Glenwood, Dennis and Lisa Sigman of Union City, Tennessee, Lynda and Jim Robbins of Glenwood, Brenda and Bo Lea and Cass and Dale Adams, all of Hot Springs; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Dajunna Howell, Jeff and Jodi Howell, Ashlea and Ryan Pierce, Seth and Lindsay Sigman, Kelsey and Lucas Wilmore, Jason Robbins, Nathan and Tara Adams and Sara and Brian Reynolds; three great-grandchildren, Cori Chesson, Rachel Vaught and Elizabeth Sigman; two brothers, J. A. Vaughn of Live Oak, California and Ronnie Vaughn of Santa Rosa, California; two sisters, Wanda McFarland of Live Oak, California and Pat Diggs of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 4, 2016, in the Mount Tabor Cemetery with Bro. Scott Howell and Bro. Erby Burgess officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
