Melissa Loyd, age 61, of Hot Springs, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Melissa was born on September 24, 1960, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Fred Russell Loyd, Sr. and Mary Octavia Perry Loyd. She is preceded in death by her father; her paternal grandparents, Russell and Emogene Loyd; her maternal grandparents, Reavley and Jewel Perry.

Melissa was Christian in her faith and was a realtor for many years, working with her father and grandmother at Loyd Real Estate. She was a graduate of Hot Springs High School Class of 1978. The greatest love of her life was her children and her grandchildren who will miss her more than can be stated by words. She never missed an opportunity to be with her grandchildren, she enjoyed and attended every activity that involved her grandchildren. "Mimi" was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was everyone’s biggest cheerleader and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany Kilzer-Cummins and husband Jason, and Candace Muzny and husband Grant; her mother, Tavia Weidmann and husband Bob; her step-mother, DeLena Loyd; her nine grandchildren, Joey Kilzer, Cole Kilzer, Emma Kilzer, Gunner Kilzer, Maleea Muzny, Adlee Muzny, Paisley Petty, Spencer Petty and Julia Muzny; her brothers, Fred Russell “Rusty” Loyd, Jr. and Kenneth Weidmann; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Loyd, Mari and Chris Sutterfield and Valorie and Brian Koehr; her sisters-in-law, Karen Loyd and Paula Sanders; nieces and nephews, Brandon and Hailey Loyd, Benjamin Loyd, Zoe Sutterfield, Lucas Sutterfield, Ellie Sutterfield, Zackary Koehr, Chloe Koehr, Kristy Weidmann and Conner Weidmann; other extended family members and many very good friends.

We would like to welcome friends and family to a Celebration of Life for Melissa, on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Smith Family Funeral Home Hot Springs Chapel, formally Davis-Smith Funeral Home.

The Celebration of Life for Melissa will continue, immediately following the funeral home service at the Arlington and all that wish to attend are welcome.
