Merrie Sue Homan, age 53, of Kirby, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

She was born on June 4, 1968, in Isola, Mississippi, the daughter of Troy Ozell Pierce and Elsie Mae Glenn Pierce. On July 1, 1985, she was married to James Dewitt Homan who preceded her in death on August 21, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Troy Pierce; her sister, Jeanette Luker; and her step-daughter, Teresa Watkins.

Merrie enjoyed fishing, flowers and crocheting. She always loved being with her family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Thomas and Sandra Pierce of Mount Ida, Tim and Wanda Pierce of Watonga, Oklahoma, Natosha Homan of Kirby and Michael Wayne and Casey Homan of Alpine; her step-children, Bobby and Mekesha Homan and James Homan, Jr., all of Greenville, Mississippi, Joseph and Evelyn Homan of Tennessee and Michael Allen and DeLisa Homan of Duluth, Minnesota; her siblings, Elizabeth Laster of Glenwood, Shirley Helms of Mississippi and Harold Pierce of Amity; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, in the Lodi Cemetery with Bro. Jack Herring and Bro. Glen Harris officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
