Michael Hayes

September 27, 1961 — November 8, 2020

Michael Hayes, age 59, went to be with the Father, Sunday, November 8, 2020, at his home in Point Cedar.

Michael was born on September 27, 1961, in Houston, Texas, the son of Buford Hayes and Peggy Rowe Hayes. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Grace Marie Caldwell.

Michael was born in Texas, but in his heart and soul he was an Arkansan. He enlisted in the Army serving in the 82nd Airborne/1st Calvary. His proudest moments came while serving his country. The 82nd Airborne are known as “the All-American Boys” and we can think of no better way to describe him. He was the quintessential American. He rode bulls, jumped out of airplanes, raised horses, grew crops, he loved, he fought, and in one way or another he built everything he had.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Peggy Herrin-Hayes; his two sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles Copelin (Danielle) Hayes and Justin Leonard Parker; his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Kendall (William) Graves; two grandchildren, Genevieve Graves and John-Paul Graves; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie (Vincent) Robeckee; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, November 13, 2020, in the Genesis Community Church, with Brother Wally Burch officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Thursday evening at the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
