Michael Leigh Andres

Michael Leigh Andres, age 65, of Hot Springs, passed away on August 10, 2020.

He was born on October 10, 1954, in Camden, the son of Charles Andres and Ida B. Hollingsworth Andres. He was preceded in death by his parents; two uncles, Robert Hollingsworth and James Hollingsworth.

Mike attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and UALR. He retired from Entergy after 33 years of service as a Chemistry and Environmental Technician at the Lake Catherine Power Plant. He enjoyed mountain biking, road cycling, photography, hiking, fishing, and spending time with his family. Mike was an award winning photographer and was published in the Smithsonian Institute Magazine.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda Andres; his daughter, Ashleigh and her fiancé, Dustin Massey, all of Hot Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Charlsey and Richard McNeese of Euless, Texas; his aunts, Rose Hollingsworth of Hot Springs and Wanda Ivy of Santa Fe, Texas; his nephews, Richard McNeese, Jr., and his wife, Leslie and John McNeese, and his wife, Kandyce; his niece, Stephanie Lopez, all of the Dallas area; and several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

It was Michael's wishes to be buried beside his parents, so to honor his wishes, there will be a Graveside Memorial Service held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2020, in the Bethesda Cemetery in Camden.

Immediately following the graveside services the family will hold a Celebration of Life to honor Mike, in The Event Center at Fairview Park in Camden and extends an invitation to all of Michael's family and friends to come and share their favorite memories

Honorary pallbearers are the Fairview High School Class of 1973, Genesis Cancer Center, CHI St Vincent nurses and staff, and Christus Dubuis Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Old Fairview Gym Renovation Project. It is a cause that was spearheaded by Mike and his classmates and is endeared to the Andres family. Donations may be sent to: The Events Center, PO Box 605, Camden, AR 71701.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Glenwood.
