Mildred Adele Giompoletti

December 19, 1929 — February 13, 2021

Mildred Adele Kelly Giompoletti, age 91, of Pearcy, went home to be with her Lord on February 13, 2021.

She was born on December 19, 1929, in Winona, Mississippi, the daughter of Elzy B. Kelly and Essie Massey Kelly. Mildred, also know to many who loved her as, Mama, Nannie or Aunt Mickey, was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James C. Johnson; and two sisters, Colleen Coleman and Pauline Brown.

Mildred and Joe moved to Hot Springs Village from Yazoo City, Mississippi in 1971 and shortly thereafter opened Giompoletti Building and Decorating which they operated until 1995. During these years she worked along side of Joe as owner manager and Certified Interior Designer of the decorating division of Giompoletti Building and Decorating. Mildred was active on various committees, the Miss Hot Springs pageant and judged the Miss Arkansas preliminary pageants for fourteen years. She and Joe have been involved for many years in the Knights of Columbus Fund Raising Auctions, which benefits several local charities. Mildred spent many hours restoring and pricing donated jewelry and took great pride in the success of her jewelry department. In 2019, she received a citation from the Arkansas House of Representatives for her part in the “American Story”. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, fishing, (she could compete with any fisherman in the boat) and, of course, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every Christmas for several years, up until 2020, it was her delight to provide homemade fruit cakes to family and friends.

Mildred was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Hot Springs.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph G. Giompoletti; her daughter, Dena Johnson Teaster, son-in-law, Tommy Teaster and daughter-in-law, Sandra Johnson; her sister Ruth Tucker (Monty); her brother, Robert Kelly (Bobby); four grandchildren, Kristi Ainsworth (Ernie), Kenny Teaster (Mandy), Jennifer Smith (Dusty), Jeffrey Johnson (Erin); six great-grandchildren, Keith, Hunter, Nathan, Collin, Ava, and Kyle; one great-great-grandchild, Bo; and several nieces and nephews.
