Mimi Shanriel Hooper

November 20, 1948 — August 3, 2019

Mimi Shanriel Hooper, age 70, of Story, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019. She was a United States Navy veteran and a retired respiratory therapist. She was a member of the Universalist Unitarian Church and active with Alcoholics Anonymous. Mimi loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and held a Black Belt in Judo. A very outgoing person, she was a friend to anyone. Mimi was extremely good at carpentry and construction and she used these talents to help many people. She is survived by her life partner, Brenda Hooper of Story; two children, Shanna Turner of Kingston, Tennessee and Dr. Gabriel McIntyre of St. Petersburg, Florida; two step-children, Kenny Mann and Wendi Jenkins; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three siblings, Rayedeene Watson of Bedford, Texas, Nikki Kistler of Murphy, Texas and Cynthia Goff of Edmond, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard D. Hooper and Pearl Deene Ellis Hooper; and her brother, Pat Hooper. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
