Murel Tennie Carr

Murel Tennie Carr, age 76, of Daisy, died Saturday, January 19, 2013. She was born on November 29, 1936, at Nathan, the daughter of Ezra Arnold Funderburk and Fannie Jane Simmons Funderburk. She was proceeded in death by her parents; her great-grandson, Dawson Markham; her brother, Jim Funderburk; and her sister, Mildred Wiley. She was a member of the Mount Joy Church. She enjoyed reading, camping, fishing and playing the guitar. She dearly loved her family get-togethers and everyone's fondest memory of Murel was how much she loved to eat all the good meals. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by everyone. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kelly and Kevin Alexander and Shelly and Jim Craft, all of Kirby and Wendy Carr of Daisy; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Mandy and Shane Markham, Kandy and James Owens, Simon and Betsy Mack, Matt and Sarah O'Neal, Zach Sirmon, Micah and Dyana O'Neal, Ian Smith, Gage and Lecie O'Neal and Krista Alexander; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Vearl and Martha Funderburk of Delight; two sisters, Ermalee Griffin of Kirby and Mazzie Brewer of Daisy; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 22, 2013, in the Mount Joy Church with Bro. James Owens officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Simon Mack, Matt O'Neal, Gage O'Neal, Micah O'Neal, Zach Sirmon and Skylar Markham. Honorary pallbearer will be Ian Smith. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
