Neal Vick

Neal Vick, age 83, of Hopper, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016. He was born on November 16, 1932 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Claudie Opal Vick and Audrey Faye Johnson Vick. On December 22, 1962, he was married to Paulette Chaffin. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, J. C. Vick; and one sister, Cleta Cullen. Neal was a United States Air Force veteran, a member of Glenwood First Baptist Church and the Adult III Sunday School Class. He was past president of the Glenwood Senior Adult Center and a member of the 2013 Senior Olympics Bean Bag Championship Team. He enjoyed tinkering with his 1950 Ford 2 door coupe, taking road trips and spending time on the lake. He loved visiting and teasing with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Paulette Vick of Hopper; two sons and their spouses, Terry and Theresa Vick of Kaufman, Texas and Rodney and Renee Vick of Fayetteville; one daughter and her spouse, Teresa and Chris Perkins of Cabot; five grandchildren, Jeremy Vick and his wife, Christina, Natalie Vick, Travis Vick, Brianna Vick and Gabrielle Nunez; four great-grandchildren; one sister, LaNelle Montgomery of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Erby Burgess officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Hopper Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Larry Mitchell, Paul Peppers, Chris Perkins, Horace Bailey, Bill West and Paul Golden.
