Patrick "Pat" Burgess Parker

December 20, 1944 — November 9, 2021

Patrick (Pat) Burgess Parker, age 76, of Hot Springs, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

Born in El Paso, Texas on December 20, 1944, to Alford (Pook) and Marie Parker, Pat grew up in Hot Springs. He was a proud member of the Hot Springs High School class of 1962. He attended Henderson State University and UA Monticello.

Pat enjoyed the lakes, woods, and mountains of Arkansas. With his lifelong buddies, he fished and hunted in every season. He enjoyed educating his sons about sports and passed on to them his enthusiasm for the outdoors.

An accomplished entrepreneur, Pat’s professional career included TV station sales and management, golf course design and construction, and retail management. He was the CEO/owner of Wycot, Inc. and established an international egg export firm.

Known as a bit of a character, Alcoholics Anonymous provided Pat with the tools he needed to grow into a better person. Helping others was his mission. His no-nonsense approach to achieving sobriety saved countless lives and kept many families together. In return, Pat gained peace, serenity, and a deep spiritual connection to God.

His eyes twinkled most brightly when he was surrounded by his family. The births of each grandchild or great-grandchild was an event for celebration; their achievements heralded as spectacular by the family patriarch. He was enormously proud of this heritage and his legacy.

He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Peggy Parker Janske; and his son, Patrick Burgess Parker, Jr.

Survivors include his partner, Sonja Lash; his son, Michael Gregory Parker (Whitnie), his sons Austin and Creek. Grandchildren, Erika Witt (Rob) and their sons, Kayden and Parker; Emily Kerstyn York (Trey) and their children, Jude, Ruth, Josiah, Nehemiah; bonus grandchildren Mercedes Clements (Jeff) and their children AJ and Sydney; Justin Hodges (Eunice); Lindsay MacPhee and her daughter, Emelia.
